Typically, in non-specialized surveys, only a few attributes are used that indirectly indicate inequality and which are appropriate for stratification of respondents. Most often, these are variables related to the socio-demographic block, namely: material status, income, subjective assessment of the social situation on the imaginary ladder, and the like. Given that in specialized studies there are much more signs fixing various manifestations of inequality, there is a need for aggregation of the information received, and the analysis of methods suitable for this requires a more detailed examination. The article attempts to create a stratified classification. The main goal of the proposed article is to develop a new classification option based on assessments made by respondents regarding situations of inequality in various areas of social life, which would make it possible to calculate a variable whose differences in values form a hierarchy. The latter is not a stratum structure of society, but a vertically oriented sequence of respondents' ideas about the state of affairs regarding inequality in each individual case or in 53 –ÓˆËÓÎӄˡ ¹3 2020 general. The end result is “representation classes”, not “social classes”. Despite the fact that their “carriers” have specific sociodemographic characteristics, the totality of which forms a generalized empirical type, which is subject to and amenable to description.
