Abstract

Atempts at economic and political reforms in the new russia in terms of theoretical understanding of their prospects have generated lively discussions about a wide range of political concepts and ideological trends. In connection with a specific historical situation, the conservative and liberal components of the socio-political sphere are subject to expansion or contraction, divergence or convergence with other political trends, up to the formation of a liberal-conservative synthesis. the result of this convergence can be two options: liberal conservatism or conservative liberalism. In modern political journalism, these options are often considered as identical. In general, the assessment of the role of liberal ideology and its place in the picture of political life in Russia is so wide that it indicates a very uncertain prospects of domestic liberalism, in particular its conservative version. Pluralism remains a characteristic feature of modern political science. It is also presented in pedagogical models of various variants of political science courses, which present material that reveals the essence, features and significance of this science, and introduces the main stages of its development. At the same time, familiarization with the history of political ideas, teachings and movements is not only of historical value, but also important for understanding the political problems of our time.
