Abstract

The paper provides an assessment of the crime rate among migrants in the regions of the Russian Far East in the second decade of the 21st century. It is shown that the majority of crimes in the Far East are committed by citizens from neighboring countries, which is explained by the prevalence of the number of migrants of this category over migrants from non-CIS countries. Depending on the countries of origin of migrants, the structure of crime changes, namely: citizens of the PRC, DPRK, Vietnam mainly commit crimes related to violation of environmental legislation and in the field of economic activity. CIS citizens more often commit crimes against life and health, public safety and public order. In general, the crime rates of migrants do not affect the measures of regional migration policy. The main reason for using restrictions (bans) on the labor market in relation to migrants from the CIS countries is to protect the regional labor market and provide jobs for the local population.
