Abstract

The article analyzes the indicator of life expectancy. The definition of the indicator, its calculation and main meaning are given. The statistical results are presented, reflecting the state and dynamics of this indicator in Russia over several years, in comparison with other countries and in the regional context. The gender differentiation in the value of the indicator of life expectancy is shown and an attempt is made to substantiate it. Possible biological and social reasons for this phenomenon are sounded from the point of view of scientific and philosophical approaches. The article also presents the results of a study of factors affecting life expectancy in Russia. The correlation of the indicator of life expectancy with various indicators of the economic well-being of the population, as well as with other components of human potential and some socio-economic factors has been calculated. Found factors closely related to the indicator of life expectancy. The most striking of them: the negative impact of unemployment, poverty, crime rate, infant mortality and the spread of alcoholism and drug addiction on life expectancy, as well as the positive impact of per capita income and average annual temperatures in the region on this indicator.
