Abstract

The information and analytical bulletin is devoted to the study of the phenomenon of volunteering in emergency and critical situations. The factors that form the predisposition of individuals to volunteer participation in emergency response, their portrait in comparison with volunteers in other areas, motives for participation and values, the specifics of work in volunteer organizations, the necessary skills, difficulties they face in their activities, ideas about their place in the field of rescue activities, self-image. The conclusions of the presented articles are based on the results of a massive online survey of volunteers carried out by the research group of the Institute of Sociology of the FCTAS RAS in the winter of 2021 as part of the work on the project “Volunteering in emergency as a response to natural and man-made challenges in Russia, supported by the Russian Science Foundation (grant no. 19-78-10052).
