Abstract

The article examines the historical features of the evolution of the spatial regional development of the PRC in one of the periods of modern Chinese history since the implementation of the policy reforms and opening up ”since 1978. It has been established that the history of the spatial regional development of the PRC in the period under review is associated with large-scale urbanization, which accelerated the processes of industrialization and the formation of urban agglomerations from rural areas; with the accelerated development of China's coastal regions; with the division and expansion of specialized production and trade throughout the PRC; with a large-scale reduction in travel time across China; with a constant reduction in internal and external contradictions in spatial regional development and deepening integration and globalization.
