Abstract

The article features an analysis of trends in the development of labor migration to Russia during the COVID-19 pandemic. The focus of the study is on changes in the socio-economic situation of migrant workers in the context of the crisis associated with the spread of COVID-19. The main content of the article includes the following: (a) an assessment of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on international labour migration; (b) examination of modern transformations of labour migration and their impact on the Russian labor market; (C) evaluation of the impact of the pandemic on economic and migratory behavior of migrant workers; (d) assessment of the risk of infection and spread of coronavirus infection among migrant workers. The research pays particular attention to the problems of regulating labor immigration in the context of overcoming the consequences of coronavirus. The article is based on the results of sociological research and analysis of official statistical information.
