Abstract

Studying the opinions of young citizens is an important aspect of monitoringprocesses in the prevention of terrorism. Based on the study of the opinions ofyoung people in the Kursk region on the nature of terrorism and its prevention, theauthors in May 2020 carried out a search, pilot sociological study. The survey involvedrespondents aged 18 to 30, a total of 203 people was interviewed. Based on theauthor’s research methodology, six logical blocks have been identified, on the basisof which the research results are grouped. They reflect the opinions of respondentsregarding various aspects of globalization, their impact on society and the growingterrorist threat, the role of the state in countering terrorism, expanding the range ofactors involved in countering terrorism. The attitude of the youth of the Kursk regionto the tightness of the relationship between the quality of life of citizens and thelevel of reduction of terrorist tension in society has been determined. The opinion ofthe youth of the Kursk region to certain approaches to countering terrorism, based onideological and axiological foundations, has been investigated
