The purpose of the research is to identify the collective perceptions of ethnic groups living in the Krasnodar Region about social justice. The methodological basis of the research is the determination by the respondent of his preferred basis of social justice by assessing the judgments characterizing these grounds, by the method of choosing a pair alternative (agree/disagree). The article used such scientific methods as causal analysis, comparative analysis, analysis of statistics of empirical sociological research. Research result. As a result of the analysis and comparison of empirical data, the specificity of ideas about social justice of ethnic groups living on the territory of the Krasnodar Region — Armenians, Russians, Meskhetian Turks, Shapsugs — was revealed. The main foundations of social justice for the Armenians turned out to be legality, help to those in need «by the whole world», equal conditions for the development of everyone, remuneration according to merit. For Russians, such grounds turned out to be legality, equal conditions for the development of everyone, remuneration according to merit, help to those in need «by the whole world». The Meskhetian Turks have equal conditions for the development of everyone, help those in need «with the whole world», legality, and the absence of division into rich and poor. The Shapsugs have equal conditions for the development of everyone, help to those in need «by the whole world», legality, reward according to merit. The differences in the ideas of social justice in terms of urbanization and religious affiliation of ethnic groups are revealed. The prospects of the research are in further deepening the study of what ideas about social justice are inherent in certain ethnic groups. The research results can be used in the development of national policy in relation to specific ethnic groups.
