Abstract

The problem of rural development is often reduced to statistical indicators of production, employment of rural population, availability of social infrastructure facilities. The role of rural intelligentsia in the organization of non-productive life of rural settlements in the post-Soviet period has faded into the background. Transnational corporations are not interested in the sustainable development of agricultural territories with their special way of life, cultural traditions of the indigenous population. The mechanistic methodology is aimed at the global unification, which should cover all spheres of society, as well as natural landscapes.
