Methods.The works of Chinese scientific experts on the issues of coordinated regional development are distinguished by a systematic analysis, supported by a theoretical and methodological substantiation of the experience of regional development of the PRC, highlighting priority directions in coordinating regional development, taking into account the problems, contradictions and prospects of the spatial organization of the PRC economy. Analysis. Chinese experts in the field of regional studies, history, geography, regional economics. Chinese scientists in their works presented a comprehensive assessment of plans, projects, implementation progress and prospects for the spatial regional development of the PRC in a coordinated and coordinated development. Among these scholars, Wang Jiangin, Wei Hukai, Gao Goli, Gao Yuwei, Li Na, Liu Yang, Sun Juven, Xiao Jincheng, Fan Hengshan, Huang Hua, Jia Shen, Zhao Qigo and Cheng Bo are especially noteworthy. Modern studies by Chinese scientists mainly relate to assessing the experience of implementing coordinated regional development of the PRC, as well as analyzing the prospects for a set of measures to coordinate the economic development of China's regions. Results. Modern works of Chinese scientific experts show that the main reason for the transition from a strategy of unbalanced regional development (1978-1990) to a strategy for coordinated development of regions was the problem of uneven socio-economic development, aggravated at the end of the 20th century, as well as the need to achieve the goals of building “socialism” with Chinese characteristics ”and the stability of the national economy of the PRC.
