Abstract

The article presents an analysis of demographic processes in the Gorky region in 1939–1945. The author defines the main components of the change in the population of the Gorky region and gives their characteristics. Structural and non-structural characteristics of demographic processes in the period under study are determined. Thanks to the accelerated development of the health care system and demographic policy measures, in 1943–1944 there is a stabilization in the dynamics of demographic processes, and in 1944–1945. positive trends are observed despite the fact that the consequences of the war will have a negative impact on the demographic situation in the region in the post-war period.
