Abstract

The development and spread of digital technologies have led to the fact that an increasing number of people around the world spend time on the Internet and use its capabilities for a variety of purposes. Russians are also rapidly embracing new technologies and related opportunities. The level of access to the Internet and the purpose of its use by the population allow us to talk about different forms of digital inequality, which are due to territorial - settlement and regional - differences. Accordingly, in order to reduce the digital divide, it is necessary not only to solve the problems of technical access to the Internet, but also to raise the standard of living, digital literacy and digital culture of the population everywhere.
