Abstract

The article deals with the territorial structure of the educational space of the Kurgan region. Based on the analysis of indicators of socio-economic development, it is concluded that this region is among the economically depressed and is characterized by a long-term migration outflow of the population. The migration associated with higher education is considered in detail. As a source of information about the zones of influence of universities, the data of profiles of users of the social network vk.com from the Kurgan region were used, for which the fields native place, school, city of the university were filled in. As a result, it was possible to divide the municipalities of the region according to their inclination towards the cities-centers of higher education.
