Abstract

This paper outlines several systemic problems in the Russian economy hindering steady social and economic development of the Russian Federation that is a dominant power according to objective indicators within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The author identifies nine key problems of the EAEU that have slowed down the integration process of five member states so far. Based on the author’s technique of analysis of the institutional framework of economies, we propose a set of measures for systemic solutions of the described problems and the realization of a scenario of the EAEU’s transformation into an “Independent Power Centre” in the world economy.
