Abstract

The article analyzes the work of Karl Mannheim (1983-1947) - Ideological and sociological interpretation of spiritual formations (1926). This is a chapter from his more extensive work that has not come down to us, devoted to the historical-philosophical and logical analysis of the concept of ideology. The author of the article puts forward the assumption that we are talking about preparatory materials for the book Ideology and Utopia (1929). It is based on the fact that this is the only one of Mannheim’s previous “Ideology and Utopia” works, where the concept of “ideology” is the subject of special consideration, moreover, in an interpretation that was not included in “Ideology and Utopia”. The author pays special attention to the logic and methodology of Mannheim's substantiation of his typology of interpretations of spiritual formations.
