Abstract

The attitude of university students to the past and present through an assessment of the events of the XX century and the current situation is analyzed in the article. Respondents were asked to choose the time and place of life for themselves, using the «time machine». The preference for various periods of Imperial, Soviet or Russian history as desirable for one's own self-realization may indicate, on the one hand, the dominance of certain ideological attitudes and «gaps» in historical education, the content of which is corrected through a political order. This leads to a multivariate past, a dissonance between the desired characteristics of society and migratory moods
