Abstract

The section is devoted to the study of the ideas of Russians in general and residents of Kabardino-Balkaria about the influence of nationality (ethnicity)on the possibilities of social advancement in the labor sphere. It is shown that in the all-Russian dimension, these representations have a relationship with age, type of settlement, type of ownership of the enterprise where the respondent works. However, the attitudes of respondents in the field of interethnic relations, the presence of ethnic prejudice and perceived discrimination on the basis of nationality have a much greater impact. However, due to the low prevalence of the latter, the opinions formed by a significant part of Russians about the ethnic marking of employment and entrepreneurship should be considered rather as stereotypes formed due to the historical context of the country, and not as a result of real infringement of rights in this sphere of life.
