Abstract

Patriotic identity is considered as a set of judgments about Russia in two dimensions: civil and protective. The civic dimension of patriotism consists of beliefs in the need to know and maintain the history and culture of their country, its traditions and customs of interaction, the importance of activities for the benefit of the country. The protective dimension consists of dispositions that emphasize the importance of protecting the historically established value-cultural system from various kinds of external influences. As studies of past years show, the variants of the content of patriotic identity in everyday life represent various combinations of measures to support the beliefs of civil and protective dimensions.
