Various factors influencing the choice of the trajectory are considered. Despite the low number of the NEET group in Russia (in 2017 - 9% of the youth aged 15-24), it is stable. There are two main approaches to the study of NEET youth. One of them, formed within the framework of the economic direction, including economic sociology, is associated with the study of the labor market, conditionally called the market; the other – socio–cultural - was formed within the framework of sociology, but actually at the junction with psychology, cultural studies, social anthropology, philosophy. The focus of his attention is on the young unemployed and the phenomenon of unemployment itself as a socio–cultural phenomenon. If the structure of the NEET group has been studied from the standpoint of the market approach as a whole, then the typologization of NEET youth requires refinement, and therefore the topic of grounds and criteria becomes of fundamental importance.
