The methodological basis of the study is provided by an analysis of the scale and socio- demographic structure of intra-Russian migration flows, as well as adaptation and integration policies towards migrants in two major Russian cities — Moscow and St. Petersburg. The authors analyze Rosstat statistical data on intra-Russian migration, conduct a review of scientific literature, and assess the migration policy of megacities. Research result. The survey results show that most internal Russian migrants move to Moscow and St. Petersburg in search of more income, better jobs, quality education and standard of living. However, migrants face many obstacles, such as lack of housing, low wages, and insufficient support for entrepreneurship. The need to develop policies in megacities to facilitate the adaptation and integration of migrants into the host urban community and to address the problems they face has been outlined. It is proposed to improve access to housing, raise wages and provide support for entrepreneurship among migrants. The prospects of the research include the development of migration policies for Moscow and St. Petersburg based on the principle of integration and equal opportunities for all. Proposals include the creation of additional support programmes for migrants, including educational and language courses, employment assistance and the provision of benefits for migrant entrepreneurs. Such policies can contribute to better integration of migrants into society and overcome existing problems, which in turn will lead to improved economic and social development of the country.
