A comparison of respondents' responses by Federal Districts showed that the practical significance of the data increases when analyzing the results in relation to a specific region. This article evaluates the system of value orientations of Nizhny Novgorod students (N = 1699 The authors come to the conclusion: the mentality of students is formed under the influence of the realities of their surrounding life, characterized by them as unfair, which give rise to ideas about an ideal society in which socialist and liberal values are inconsistently «intertwined».
