The Chinese government, using the soldiers of the People's Liberation Army of China, guaranteed the protection of the northeastern borders, but also by transferring the military to the status of peasant soldiers ensured the agricultural development and settlement of the abandoned, impenetrable territory of the PRC on the border with the Soviet Union. As a result of considering the process of formation of the Heilongjiang production and construction corps from among the soldiers-peasants and educated youth, we came to the conclusion that the state farm regiments of the Chinese army played a significant role in the regional history of the Northeast of the PRC, influencing the agricultural, railway, water protection, timber industry branches of the national economy and leaving a mark on the fate of every soldier-peasant, hardening the character of military-agrarian activities.
