Abstract

Today, the Soviet period in Russian history causes extremely ambiguous judgments, assessments and discussions. For the most part, they concern the general aspects of the existence of Soviet society and the state, the role of the USSR in world history, the achievements of the Soviet economy, science, culture, wars, the problems of the Gulag system, and so on. The historical and cultural environment today is becoming a key concept of modern society and is not a separate area of state regulation, but a complex multi-level system. In the modern world, historical components are the basis for the development of society. Due to the potential of historical memory and successful coordination of activities in the field of preserving the memory of the past, stability and continuity can be achieved.
