Abstract

Readers are invited to a collective monograph reflecting the results of a study by the Center for the Sociology of Management and Social Technologies of the Institute of Sociology of the Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, devoted to the problem of the regularity of interregional and federal relations in overcoming social inequalities of territories. Among the most promising areas of research on the problems of overcoming interregional inequality, the authors of the monograph include the development of mechanisms for regulating social ties and interactions of regional development subjects and assessing the impact of the management system on overcoming social inequality in the regions. Within the framework of the study, a diagnosis of the state of affairs with the regulation of social inequalities in regions with different levels of socio-cultural development was carried out, mechanisms were proposed to increase the efficiency of the work of authorities and management to overcome the redundancy of inequalities, the possibilities of social modeling were determined, a model for regulating interregional managerial inequality was developed. The empirical part of the study is based on the rationale for grouping Russian regions by levels of socio-cultural modernization with the simultaneous use of a set of sociological methods and methods for studying the attitude of various groups and categories of the population to living conditions in the regions and to the work of regional management structures: mass representative survey, expert survey of qualified specialists from the regions, secondary analysis of statistical reporting materials, content analysis of official websites of regional authorities. The monograph is addressed to a wide range of specialists working in government and government bodies, representatives of civil society organizations, as well as scientific organizations, scientists of various disciplinary profiles, including sociological ones, engaged in solving problems of social inequality and strategic development of regions.
