Abstract

In 2014, St. Petersburg became the third city in Russia to introduce urban bikesharing. The article reveals the history of this bikesharing system and elaborates on how users have become involved in supporting this infrastructure. It demonstrates that infrastructure is not only created top-down - by investors and city authorities. It becomes itself only in the practices of users, with additional details - for example, a social network group and active user participation - in order to function.
