Abstract

The high degree of interregional inequality in indicators of socio-economic development, including the quality of life of the population, is an urgent problem of spatial development of the Russian Federation. The article is devoted to assessing the inequality of indicators of the quality of life of the population in the regions of the Volga Federal District. The study is based on indicators characterizing the labor market and the quality of employment, income of the population, housing conditions, including the improvement of the housing stock, as well as the provision of social infrastructure facilities. The analysis was carried out on the basis of official statistics and subjective estimates of the population. As a result of the study, it was revealed that subjective estimates of the population indicate higher income inequality than the indicators of official statistics (monetary income, poverty level, etc.).
