Abstract

The article attempts to answer the question – WHO embodies the face of Russian society, WHO is the subject of social development and WHO'S INTERESTS are expressed by the existing classes. In accordance with this goal the characteristic of the main classes and communities (strata) in modern Russian society andtheir socio-economic position is given. Particular attention is paid to the precariat, which, in the author's opinion, determines the face of modern Russian society, and its economic, social and worldview positions are not only part of social and everyday life, but an important generalizing indicator that concerns all aspects of managing economic, social, political, spiritual and cultural spheres of Russian society.
