Abstract

The article attempts to analyze the intermediate results of digitalization of the Russian higher education system during the post-pandemic period. The research methods were the analysis of regulatory documents, statistical analysis of data from the Federal State Statistics Service, secondary analysis of the results of research centers of the Higher School of Economics, Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, etc. The main results are related to the analysis of the dynamics of indicators of the transformation of social space in the higher education system in the process of digitalization. The authors consider the digitalization of higher education as a factor that supports social inequality and stimulates the development of its new forms. The authors conclude that the preservation of distance learning in universities strengthens communication barriers both within the student environment and between the student and teaching communities. Special emphasis is placed on the slow rate of increasing the level of digital literacy of teachers. In the course of the analysis, the authors conclude that the transformation of higher education through the digitalization of the process is still proceeding at a rather restrained pace due to the slow equipping of universities with the financial, technical, and human resources necessary for the transition to digital. The novelty of the work consists in recording the results of the transformation of social relations within the higher education system in the context of digitalization and determining its characteristic features, including the level of readiness of participants in the educational process to implement state-defined vectors of transformation of higher education in Russia
