Abstract

The Moscow agglomeration, which includes Moscow and most of the territory of the Moscow region, is the largest in Russia – more than 20 million people live here, almost one in seven Russians. On the one hand, the Moscow region is a center of attraction for migration flows (domestic and international), which is due to the quality of life in the region and the capacity of the labor market. On the other hand, the models of demographic behavior (matrimonial, reproductive, self-preservation) that are currently being formed in the metropolitan region will subsequently spread to other regions of the country.
