Today, works devoted to the study of the formation of trust in sociological science and its assessment are extremely important. The results of this study have shown that there is a whole range of problems that not only complicates trust in sociological research, but also makes such trust impossible. Thus, the authors stand out such reasons as the isolation of sociological research and surveys from the realities of the modern world, the inefficiency of research and methods used, the non-verifiability of research data, distrust of commissioned research. Within the framework of this study, the authors highlight various strategies of trust in sociological research in modern Russian society using the example of residents of St. Petersburg.
