Abstract

Many demographers actively promote the idea of supporting fertility and promoting large families in the country. Research projects and a large number of scientific events are devoted to this issue, which contribute to the formation of a coherent point of view, generalization and concentration of scientific experience. One of these events was the All-Russian Symposium "The Multigenerational Family as a Strategic Resource for Russia's National Security", which was held on March 6, 2024 in Moscow at the Institute of Demographic Research of the Federal Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The key topic of the Symposium is the role of the multi–generational Russian family in strengthening and enhancing the status of the institution of a prosperous large family, ensuring intergenerational transmission and shaping the continuity of Russian traditional values. The keynote of the Symposium was the Message of the President of the Russian Federation to the Federal Assembly, in which the head of State V.V. Putin paid special attention to supporting the institution of the family: "Of course, the main purpose of the family is the birth of children, the continuation of the human race, the upbringing of children, and therefore the continuation of our entire multinational people."
