The author describes only one topic of RAS research: "Changes in the consciousness of residents of Greater Donbass when choosing a profession and a method of learning new in-demand professional knowledge." The object of sociological research is the results of the influence of martial law on the choice of basic professions of residents of Greater Donbass, and the subject of sociological research is changes in the consciousness of residents occurring when choosing a profession and a method of learning new professional skills. In modern Russian sociology, scientists have not studied the influence of long-term martial law (as an isolated factor) on professional orientation and choice of profession among young people. The author conducted such research for the first time in the history of Russian science. In these sociological studies, it should be taken into account that in frontline conditions, an individual's social environment, in which his choice of profession was previously formed, radically changes. The author proposes to study changes in the consciousness of young people when choosing a profession in three stages: "fantastic choice", "realistic choice" and "frontline choice". Some of the studies were conducted by the author in the DPR on the basis of DonNTU. To conduct sociological research, they proposed a methodology and conducted a corresponding survey among the participants in the university's military operations. Sociological research in the field of the structure and capacity of the labor market allows for the rational distribution of labor resources in the DPR economy. The solution to this problem requires the alignment (comparability) of the actual labor resources and the needs of the region's economy for jobs in the relevant professions. It should be noted that given the high socio-economic and political significance for the development of the Russian Federation of the outcome (result) of the SVO and the solution of a whole range of problems that arose during the annexation of new territories, scientific research by the Russian Academy of Sciences in the field of sociology in relation to residents of the Greater Donbass is extremely relevant.
