Abstract

Aim. The analysis of the socio-political aspects of the upbringing of modern Russian youth in the context of the formation of the younger generation of Russian civic identity, patriotism, a system of value orientations and beliefs, the development of skills for political participation and political activity. Methodology. The article examines the theoretical and methodological aspects of political education of young people based on the methodology of the sociology of education. An attempt is made to measure the political education of the younger generation on the basis of axiological and activity-based approaches. Results. It is shown that the result of political education is the level of political and legal culture of the individual, his active civic position. According to the results of the study, it is concluded that at present there is a need to expand the range of educational components of educational organizations based on historical and political education of the younger generation. Research implications. The assumption is substantiated that in a transforming society, the political and socio-cultural aspects of the ongoing changes come to the fore, therefore, state investments in the human potential of society and, above all, in the comprehensive development of Russian youth seem to be a priority of state policy. The problems of theoretical and methodological aspects of political education as one of the important social institutions require understanding and development of methodological tools.
