Abstract

The study of socio-economic and other aspects of the life of single-parent families, as well as the influence of family structure on the success of children's socialization remains relevant. The purpose of the article is to analyze the scientific discourse on single-parent families and social practices of single motherhood and fatherhood based on the dissertations of Russian sociologists defended in the period from 2003 to 2023. The author's material of dissertation research on sociology for a ten-year period (since 2012) was also used. The data source was the dissertation fund of the Russian State Library (RSL). In total, 12 dissertations on sociology were identified and analyzed, the object of research of which were single-parent families. The dissertations were classified according to the following parameters: specialty code, year, city and organization of protection, method and direction of research.
