Abstract

The desire to understand whether the coronavirus epidemic has affected the change in the attitude of people of different ages to their health, the perception of the parameters of subjective well-being (level of happiness, satisfaction with income, healthcare, safety, communication, etc.) led to an appeal to the data of the comparative European Social Survey (ESS) of respondents from European countries and Central Asia for the period 2006-2021. The study of the impact of the pandemic on the health of children and adolescents was based on materials from the international study “Health Behavior in School-Age Children” (HBSC) 2021–2022. It is concluded that in most European countries the stability of perception of the main spheres of life has been preserved. According to most of the indicators considered, Russians are outsiders among European countries. However, Russians’ responses to 7 out of 12 parameters of health and well-being show positive changes. The results of studies of the health of children and adolescents during the pandemic period indicate significant negative consequences, mainly related to mental health.
