Abstract

The work provides an overview of the second all-Russian scientifi c conference “(Non) New Challenges and Opportunities of Sociology,” which took place on April 23–24, 2024 at the initiative of the editors of the scientifi c journal “St. Petersburg Sociology Today.” As part of the scientifi c conference, there were eight sections and a round table, at which scientifi c reports from scientists from St. Petersburg and Moscow, Samara and Nizhny Novgorod, Donetsk and Saratov, Grodno and Voronezh were presented. During the scientifi c conference, participants discussed the problems of accelerating social dynamics, the signifi cance and opportunities of sociology for society, as well as channels for disseminating sociological knowledge in the focus of research on citizens and urban communities, family and marriage, employment and the labor market, social inequalities in health and aging, self-organization and collective action in the face of (non)new challenges.
