Abstract

This article attempts to analyze the ideas of modern Russian youth about the most important components of the image of foreign political leaders, whom they could call «outstanding». The main political and personal qualities of the world’s leading politicians are identified and the most important of them highlighted, according to the opinion of young people. The data obtained during the implementation of the sociological research allowed us to consider the specifics of the opinions of young people regarding the image of an «outstanding» politician in comparison with the positions of respondents belonging to older age categories. Young people turned out to be most interested in the orientation of the activities of foreign political leaders towards establishing friendly relations with Russia. In addition, the individual qualities of a politician are more important for young people than for others. However, low interest in the political sphere has led to a lack of necessary information about foreign politicians. In this regard, representatives of modern Russian youth have a rather blurred image of foreign political leaders. The methodological basis of the research is the results of an applied sociological survey conducted by the staff of the SRB - FCTAS RAS in 2023.
