Abstract

First Russian translation of a chapter from Pitirim Sorokin's monograph "Social philosophies of an age of crisis" (1950), devoted to the analysis of the teachings of the outstanding Russian thinker N.Y. Danilevsky. Despite the time that has passed since the first publication, the chapter has not lost its relevance. Sorokin's exposition and criticism of Danilevsky's views remain the best in world literature.
