Abstract

In the context of the actual goals of national development and Russia's entry into a new phase of socio-economic development, the article presents an analysis of the methodological aspects of welfare research in Russia in connection with the significance of the problem of spatial inequality in various aspects, including in relation to the distribution of economic resources. The author identifies the previous modern accents in understanding the problem of socio-economic inequality for Russia and the objectivity of its measurement, the consequences of a significant level of inequality, the main modern factor of welfare growth, methodological features of its analysis and assessment at various spatial levels. The approaches to assessing welfare in Russia based on the results of modern research on its components: income of the population and the material and property component of housing are summarized. It is advisable to apply the results of the study when constructing scenarios for the use of economic resources.
