Abstract

Yenisei Siberia is a special region that not only unites Central Asia with the far north of Eurasia, but also connects the East and the West — both Russia and the entire Eurasian continent. Russian-Chinese relations have always been and remain the most important factor in the development of Russia and the geopolitical situation in the world. Russian regions play an important role in these relations, among which Krasnoyarsk Krai occupies a special place. The presented book is the first study on the history of relations between Yenisei Siberia and China over the past four centuries. The main attention is paid to the issues of establishing and developing direct cooperation between Krasnoyarsk Krai during the turning point in Russian history in the 1980s and 1990s. The book was written jointly by Russian and Chinese researchers based on a wide range of documents of Russian and Chinese origin, including archival and previously inaccessible materials in Chinese. The book is intended not only for historians, but is also of interest to a wide range of readers, all those interested in the history of Krasnoyarsk Krai.
