Abstract

The article examines the processes of adaptation of migrants in the host community with an emphasis on social and economic aspects. Migration, being an important part of globalization, leads to changes affecting all levels of society, including the economy, culture and social relations. Special attention is paid to the analysis of various adaptation and acculturation strategies, such as assimilation, separation, integration and marginalization, and their impact on the social stability and personal well-being of migrants. It is emphasized that integration is the most successful strategy that promotes a balance between preserving the cultural identity of migrants and maintaining social harmony in the host society. Social and economic factors play a key role in the process of migrant adaptation. It is shown that the economic integration of migrants directly affects the level of their well-being and the overall economic growth of the host countries. The main difficulties include discrimination in the labor market, difficulties in recognizing foreign qualifications and access to financial services. Measures to support migrants are being considered, including vocational training programs, language training and the creation of conditions for entrepreneurial activity that contribute to increasing their contribution to the economy. The article notes that successful adaptation of migrants requires a balanced approach that takes into account both the needs of migrants and the interests of the host society. The possible negative consequences of unsuccessful adaptation are described, such as the creation of ethnic enclaves, social isolation and increased cultural segregation. The importance of state and public support in the form of intercultural dialogue programs and measures aimed at overcoming stereotypes and establishing social ties between migrants and local residents is emphasized. In the final part of the article, it is emphasized that successful adaptation requires comprehensive strategies aimed at integrating migrants into public life, maintaining cultural diversity and developing mutual understanding between different groups.
