Abstract

Issues of the consolidation potential of modern Russia are increasingly being addressed in socio-political discourse. One of the most important components of the consensus–building process is technologies and mechanisms, models and forms that will be used to achieve a positive result. Ways and mechanisms of reaching agreement in society are becoming crucial in conditions of political instability, uncertainty, and in search of overcoming socio-political and economic crises.  The social nature of consent, its epistemological and axiological meanings, determine the connotations of the concept of social consent. Public consent presupposes interaction between government and social groups and citizens in order to achieve socially significant goals based on mutual trust and support. Political consent can be considered as a result of communication and coordination of positions of political actors, as well as as a consensus on topical specific issues in a certain time period. The high level of conflict in modern society determines the theoretical search for solutions to problems and actualizes the problem of finding political agreement.
