Abstract

The collection includes publications devoted to the Kumandins, a small indigenous people living in Altai. Various aspects of the ethnography of the Kumandins are considered: national holidays, competitions, wedding ceremonies, sacral places, rituals. Rare folklore materials (well-wishes, songs, legends, etc.), a text by historian and ethnographer F.A. Satlaev on the administrative-territorial division of the Altai Mountains, an article by D.K. Zelenin on the Kocho kan rite of the Kumandins, and a series of paintings by artist S.V. Dykov on Kumandin themes are published.
