Abstract

The article attempts to examine the nature of the influence of Soviet political culture and ideology on the compilation of textbooks on the Lithuanian language published from 1947 to 1984 in the Lithuanian SSR. A  brief introduction to the features of the educational literature on the Lithuanian language, published after the restoration of independence of the Republic of Lithuania, is also carried out. It was possible to identify clear signs of the presence of a certain educational policy that influenced Soviet textbooks, which manifested itself in the selection of educational texts, thechoice of their subjects and the appearance of various ideologems in them. According to the content of the last Alexandravicius textbook published in 1984, a siginficant decreasein its influence on the education of Russian speakers in the last decade of the Soviet period was noted. Itis also shown that the policy in the field of teaching the Lithuanian language to foreign-speaking migrants who arrived in Lithuania at different stages of the existence of the Lithuanian SSR and the Republic of Lithuania had different orientations. In the Soviet period, it was focused mainly on suddorting the state ideology that shaped the Soviet man, after 1991 it was mainly aimed at helping emigrants and refugees adapt to everyday life and integrate.
