The main results of comparative analysis and discourse analysis of the ideas of students of higher educational institutions in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan about the image of a civil servant are presented. The object of the study was a set of dominant value orientations of civil servants. A comparative analysis of the image of civil servants in Central Asian countries made it possible to determine directions for adjusting the behavior of civil servants taking into account their value orientations, which in turn will contribute to a more positive perception of civil servants in the eyes of the public not only in the Central Asian region, but also in Russia, and is also of practical interest for a better understanding of the processes occurring in these republics.
