Abstract

The purpose of the article is to study and analyze the features of the state and dynamics of the economic consciousness of the people of Russia at the theoretical and everyday levels from the standpoint of civilizational and class approaches. Research methods: the theories and methods of sociology, including the concrete historical method, are used. Comparative and statistical analyses are used as an analytical tool. The use of two approaches in the work – civilizational and class-based - allows us to explore the structure and levels of economic consciousness of the people of Russia, following the logic of its own development, through its immanent characteristics. The results obtained: the consolidation of market conditions in economic relations, the expansion of social and economic conditions of activity in Russia of a market society entails the processes of alienation of the ordinary economic consciousness of the people of the country from the ruling and ruling classes, as well as the processes of distortion of theoretical economic consciousness in an adequate knowledge of economic reality due to the uncritical translation of Western economic theories and due to its politicization process. The processes of the state and dynamics of the economic consciousness of the Russian people in general and its classes, in particular, are a reflection of the changes taking place in the practical economic life of society and are associated with them. As a result of the study, it was revealed that the market economic practice of Russian society needs significant changes in order to transition to non-market conditions of economic activity, which is supported by the majority of the people of Russia. Scientific novelty: it has been revealed that for qualitative positive changes in the everyday and theoretical levels of economic consciousness of Russians, it is necessary to restore the forms of economic activity immanent in Russian civilization, commodity-non-market economic relations, and the values of labor, not consumer, society. For an adequate understanding of the state and dynamics of economic consciousness of different social groups in modern Russia, it is important to use class rather than stratification analysis of sociological and statistical data in domestic research.
