Abstract

Under the influence of modern realities, irreversible changes are emerging in Russian society. That is why citizens need to adapt to forced transformations and search for new opportunities to establish the identity of Russian society, form the right values, rally and unite citizens and stimulate patriotic sentiment. As part of the study of citizenship and patriotism of modern youth, the authors conducted sociological studies aimed at analyzing the dynamics of their life values and identifying basic political and legal values. The article presents a theoretical analysis of citizenship and patriotism, based on the use of materials from authors’ sociological research and other studies, which allow analyzing political values and orientations, attitudes and interest in politics, opportunities, willingness to participation, and the involvement of young people in the political life of the country. The relevance of the article lies in the fact that the need to form citizenship and patriotism of young Russians is considered a priority task for our society and needs attention and careful processing by the ruling bodies and social structures.
