The main hypothesis of the study is that “cyberpunk” as a new socio-political formation or era has already arrived. The “razor’s edge” of the preceding history in the multidimensional space of socio-political meanings has already drawn a fairly clear hyperplane of the further trajectory of society’s development and civilization has to follow it to the end. But will that final “cyborg” be an ideal of a harmonious, spiritually developed person in his function of serving society, free from the fear of death, equal before the law and society, and capable of empathy and moral understanding of the world, - remains a big question. The characteristic features of “cyberpunk” as a fantastic project of society have already been realized to a large extent: the level of social inequality has increased compared to the end of the 20th century, the growing influence of giant media corporations, openly totalitarian and militaristic features of countries that previously declared a democratic and peaceful path of development and claimed the laurels of models and luminaries of democracy. At the same time, political sanctions and economic restrictions imposed by world hegemons against the development of the AI industry in other countries may lead to an alternative solution - the use of human-machine technologies instead of the race for the capacities and characteristics of machine learning models and neural networks. The political scenario of the transition to a new society-through political conflicts and social confrontations - does not inspire optimism: both between political systems and within them between conditional “cyborgs” and “naturals”. There are also a number of political and economic problems associated with both the impossibility of creating a “strong AI” and its possible emergence, with the subsequent divergence of interests with humans.
