Abstract

By the "creative class" Florida and his followers understand highly educated specialists who are engaged in creative work on a daily basis and generate new "post-money" (focused primarily on self-development and self-realization) cultural values. According to Florida, representatives of the "creative class" in the 2000s made up about a third of US workers (even more in large cities) and received half of all wages. Those cities that are successfully developing are those that, distinguished by the development of high technologies and a high level of tolerance, attract talented people to live and work (the theory of the "three Ts" - talent, technology and tolerance).
